About Giani Sant Singh Ji Maskeen:

Giani Sant Singh Maskeen was a well-known Sikh scholar and expert in theology, renowned for his expertise in Gurmat and Gurbani. Born in 1934 in Lakki Marwat (now in Pakistan), Maskeen Ji was the child of Kartar Singh and Ram Kaur and had one sister, Sujan Kaur. He attended Khalsa School (now in Pakistan) and Government High School, but his education at the latter was interrupted by the turmoil of Partition in 1947. His family migrated to India, settling in Alwar, Rajasthan, where Maskeen Ji could not continue his studies.

For a period of time, he worked as a railway employee. In 1958, he married Sunder Kaur and made Alwar his permanent home. Maskeen Ji and Sunder Kaur had three sons and two daughters. Tragically, Maskeen Ji passed away on 18 February 2005 due to a massive heart attack while attending a wedding in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, India. He was posthumously awarded the title of Panth Ratan for his remarkable contributions to humanity through the teachings of Gurbani.
